Overview

Dr. Levine was the Sara Lawrence Lightfoot Assoc. Professor of Religion at Swarthmore College.
A self-described "Yankee Jewish feminist who teaches in a predominantly Protestant divinity school in the buckle of the Bible belt," Levine combines historical-critical rigor, literary-critical sensitivity, and a frequent dash of humor with a commitment to exposing and expunging anti-Jewish, sexist, and homophobic theologies.
The title of this lecture is, ""The "Quest" for the Historical Jesus."

This is just an introduction to a lecture series. Has it been the lecture series itself, then this "book" would have been very interesting. As it is, it is a waste of time and I am disappointed that Simply would offer it rather than the lecture series.

Dr. Levine is brillant,as usual. However, this is not a book and not even a lecture. It is an introduction to a lecture series. I was extremely disappointed.

This is a rip off !!! This was the introduction to a series of lectures. In the talk the lecturer touches on the topics she will cover in the up comming talks but never really says anything. This should be bundeled with the six other lectures to make it worthwile. SELECT SOMETHING ELSE !!!!
