I collected a useable number of tricks that I use to keep me on a path consistent with my goals. This book lists all of those tricks plus many more. At first I thought I would be hearing a dry list of 100 things you could do to stay happy, optimistic, and focused. Indeed, that is really all this is. He doesn't go into depth about any of the 100 ways, but there are a few of them in this list that stand out for me. My wife listened to it and those that stood out for her were very different than mine, which I suppose is the way it should be since we are all different and need different things. I will listen to this again at a later time, and I'm sure to pick up a few other motivational practices that will appeal to me at that time. I can't really call this inspiring, but there are a lot of reminders here about the daily practices we could put into place to keep ourselves motivated and focused on our goals.
Loved this audio book. Kept it for several weeks listening to it in my drive in and drive home. I especially enjoyed how he talks about creating your life vision and "live into it." Also the vision board ideas was great. Completely changed my thinking. Regarding the authors voice, he sounds like a sleepy Harrison Ford, but it's not bad at all, calming really. There are some real motivational gems here, chunked out in 100 easy sections. Highly recommended if you find yourself stuck in a rut or in need of a motivational pick-me-up. Worked for me.
I have already implemented three of the techniques suggested by the author and have found these simple suggestions have already given my life more focus and organization. The authors voice is a tad monotone, but, it was well worth listening to.
Great ideas on how to motivate yourself. Listen 2-3 times just to get all the basics!! A must read for anyone who needs that extra "kick in the behind" to get going.
If you want quick one-liners to motivate you to begin the day on a good note then I recommend this audio. It put me in a positive frame of mind on my commute. Almost think I need to hear about 10 minutes of this each day. Not anything deep but it really does provide some positive material to think on.
Didn't love it. Author's voice was very unmotivating. Found it full of rhetoric, nothing really useful to apply.
I loved this book and found it filled with great ideas and/or reminders. There has been some criticism of the speaker's voice. I think if you stick with it, you will realize that he has a great speaking voice, just not the best reading voice. I give him kudos for this. His voice is not a paper-cutter self-promoting one. All fluff and tired message. His ideas aren't startling, but his sincerity shines through and did more to inspire me than all the pretty platstic preacher-esque reading voices put together. He believes in what he is saying and he doesn't try to spin the way he says it, but on what is being said. Good enough for me.
Chandler has some great ideas on motivation. It's not difficult to get through the 100 tips (2 CDs) but the recording is on 1 track which can be highly annoying. Also, while Chandler (author and narrator) mentions how people call him a great speaker, it was like listening to Ben Stein. But if you can get over the fact that his voice is a de-motivator but his book is a motivator, it's a good one. I will be buying the book to keep and use in other circumstances.
Many of the same items I've heard in the past. However , it was done will.
I am not sure how much good info was contained as the narrator (author) was so boring I could not stand to listen any longer than 20 mins-even though I was stuck in traffic - very disappointing.
