Overview

"The Trunchbull" is no match for Matilda!
Who put superglue in Dad's hat? Was it really a ghost that made Mom tear out of the house? Matilda is a genius with idiot parents -- and she's having a great time driving them crazy. But at school things are different. At school there's Miss Trunchbull, two hundred menacing pounds of kid-hating headmistress. Get rid of the Trunchbull and Matilda would be a hero. But that would take a superhuman genius, wouldn't it?

My family and I really enjoyed this audiobook. Roald Dahl is one of my favorite authors and I love sharing his humor with my 6-year-old daughter. The only problem we had was the frequent use of the word "stupid," which really bothered my little one. A hilarious, fun story.

Very cute. My five year old loved listening to this on a car trip. My husband and I also enjoyed it as well. A little different than the movie.

"Matilda" has always been a favorite story of mine. This is most certainly one of Dahl's best works.

This was a very cute book. One that the entire family can enjoy. Compared to the movie, I think i liked the movie a little bit better, but they are basically the same.

I loved this book. I loved Dahl growing up and the audio book was just as good as I remembered. It definitely made the time fly by on my commute to work. Definitely worth listening to.

Dahl, Roald

"Roald Dahl was born in Wales in 1916 and educated in English boarding schools. During World War II, he was a Royal Air Force fighter pilot in North Africa and Greece. He was transferred to Washington D.C., where he saw his first piece of work published, ?A Piece of Cake,? an account of a fighter plane crashing in Libya. Soon after he published his first piece of fiction, a story called ?The Gremlins.? Fifteen years later, Mr. Dahl found himself telling bedtime stories to his children over and over again. These stories became the basis for James and the Giant Peach. After that came Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG, and Matilda. Every book of Roald Dahl?s was written in a little brick hut in an apple orchard about two hundred yards away from his home. He wrote them all in pencil. More can be learned about Roald Dahl by reading the autobiographical Boy: Tales of Childhood and Going Solo. Roald Dahl died in 1990 at the age of seventy-four."
