Who wrote this book??? So disappointing. I love Patterson most of the time. I had to force myself to complete the book and when it was over, I felt completely cheated. To call this work "simple" is to defame the word "simple."

Heed the Warning

This book was absolute torture to get through. It is sophomoric, frustrating, idiotic at times, and reads like one long, boring sentence that you can't wait to finally end. I doubt James Patterson did any more than add his name, make a buck, and lure us into believing this was a book of his caliber. It isn't - if you felt cheated by the whole "JR" incident, you will snap these CD's in half and prevent anyone else from having to suffer through it.

Frustration Dream

You know those frustration dreams you have? You can't get there from here? Or you can't complete the task at hand? That's what this book was ... I kept waiting to wake up (which is what the book was all about). It kept me on the edge, but I was a little disappointed in the ending ... needed a little more. Not one of Patterson's best books, but it killed time on my commute.

I kept hoping it would get better, but it never did. Too many cliches, too many product/people references, just too unbelieveable. Don't waste your time if you have anything better to do.

Sorry - I am a HUGE fan of James Patterson but this one was just WEIRD. Couldn't wait for it to be done.

This was so shockingly NOT James Patterson material. I listened to the whole book...hoping. There are so many other great "listens" out there, don't bother with this one!

This book is very weird, but very good. Keeps you on the edge of your set. The ending is too real.

Patterson should be ashamed....this book is a waste of time. Please better spend yours doing something constructive and fun with your time.... Guess I should have taken a hint from the title.

James Patterson is an award-winning American author. Formerly the chairman of advertising company J. W. Thompson in the early 1990s, Patterson came up with the slogan "Toys R Us Kid." Shortly after his success with Along Came A Spider, he retired from the firm and devoted his time to writing. The novels-featuring his character, Alex Cross, a black forensic psychologist formerly of the Washington, D.C. In total, Patterson's books have sold an estimated 150 million copies worldwide. He has won awards including the Edgar, the BCA Mystery Guild's Thriller of the Year, and the International Thriller of the Year award. James Patterson was called "the man who can't miss" in Time magazine. Patterson is also well known for sharing the spotlight with different co-authors such as Maxine Paetro and Andrew Gross and has often said that collaborating with others brings new and interesting ideas to his stories.

He also founded the James Patterson PageTurner Awards, now in its third year. Patterson has personally given away over $600,000 to reward "people, companies, schools, and other institutions who find original and effective ways to spread the excitement of books and reading."

Patterson's bestselling Women's Murder Club series is now a TV show starring former Law & Order star Angie Harmon. The show premiered in the fall of 2007 on ABC television. Other movie deals are currently in the works with various Hollywood studios including a major motion picture based on his Maximum Ride series, to be produced by Avi Arad, the creator of X-Men and Spiderman.
