What every man wishes he knew about what his wife desires most.

Authors Stephen Arterburn and Fred Stoeker (with Mike Yorkey) believe that every man can meet the secret desires of his wife. The problem is, most of us aren't exactly sure what that desire is and how we can go about fulfilling it faithfully.

In Every Man's Marriage, you can discover the common misconceptions about what it means to exercise biblical authority, and understand the role of submission in the marriage relationship. This groundbreaking book can help men grasp and apply essential but often overlooked principles for marital leadership.

Through candid reflections on their own struggles to achieve biblical unity in their own marriages, along with many years of combined experience in marital counseling, Arterburn and Stoeker apply solid, time-tested biblical wisdom to the everyday potential distortions that can lead to strife in a marriage.

The second book in the Every Man series, this is the perfect follow-up to the best-selling Every Man's Battle. Every Man's Marriage is a terrific resource for establishing mutual respect and sacrifice in your marriage based on Christ's example of loving His bride, the church.

I understand the authors point that we as men need to submit to our wifes needs. I get that and agree. But in some of his examples, you would think the man in the story was allowing his wife to walk all over him. I am thankful my wife doesnt take advantage of me like the one in the story. Maybe I am just very blessed.

Excellent, wished I'd read it 11 years ago

I would have preferred that the audio were unabridged; having said that, it is an excellent work in the abridged format and all married Christian men should listen to it. All Christian men who are planning on getting married, especially those engaged, MUST listen to it. It's the recipe you need to a life of love with your spouse, as God planned it.

Evangelical bent, every other word is quoting the bible and if you are not Christian you will probably be turned off. Much too holier than thou for me.

This was a very insightful book.

This is a very good book, but every man's battle served my needs much better. Some of the situations in this book didn't apply to me, but they could apply to you. I recomend this book to every married man.

Marriage as it can be -- with work

I enjoyed this selection very much. It was practical with good examples and sound advice. It gives you the benefit of learning the mistakes made in other men's marriages so that you can recognize and avoid -- or if too late -- at least begin to correct mistakes already made. Most if not all of the advice can be used immediately, and it can be effective from the start reaping results that will inspire further effort.

Although the message contained was good, it could have been given in 30 minutes. At times I burst out laughing at comments and biblical passages that were quoted. I find it perplexing that people might actually believe and live by such ancient puritanical beliefs. It's bewidering, but nice, to listen to such diverse opinions. To my surprise, I actually got something out of it, as long as I listened to the message despite how it is delivered.

Not so great

I didn't think this was that great. The narrator does not have much emotion in his voice (just a notch over mono-tone) and the book itself wasn't great. I'm sure we could all do a better job in our marriages (the reason I got the book in the first place) but from his position you have to be pretty screwed up to find it helpful. It appears the author's books tend to be more from the extreme end of an issue. I listened to one of his other books and found it shocking and extreme. Read it if you have a serious problem in your relationship and maybe you'll find it helpful. But if you marriage isn't that bad, then you probably won't get much from the book.
