Amazing story and great narration. Sad the series ended...
Didn't want the series to end. Talk about a book destined to be a movie, let's hope so. This is a great rest read for all ages and genders. A wonderful introduction to alternate history and a great book for reluctant readers.
Outstanding story! I'm sorry I finished it. Definitely going to play it again. This tale has action, intrigue, intelligent humor and enough historical facts (although creatively connected) to create a realistic backdrop. The series is very well aligned from one book to the next so the reader is able to dive right in to the next book. I'm very impressed with this author and will read more of his work in future. I also must say that the narration of this book series was by far the best of all the books I've heard. Allen Cummings brings the words to life with such vibrant accents and personalities. His narration is smooth and flawless between books as well. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in Steam Punk, adventure stories, historical fiction, or those just looking for something new. All age readers can appreciate this masterful work of fiction.
The narrator is an excellent reader. He masters each accent, navigating between them all with effortless fluidity.
5/5 all-round!!!! One of my favourite books has received the amazing 'audio-treatment' it deserves.
Scott Westerfeld's teen novels include the Uglies series, the Midnighters trilogy, "The Last Days", an ALA Best Book for Young Adults and the sequel to "Peeps". Scott was born in Texas, and alternates summers between Sydney, Australia, and New York City.
