Very disappointing after the very enjoyable "Dancing at the Rascal Fair."

Engrossing book!

I have enjoyed several of Ivan Doig's books. I especially am infatuated with his tight, yet lyric prose, and finely-drawn characters. On a whim, I decided to try this non-fiction piece, and am so glad I did! What a story! What characters! And if this entices you to check out the book, be sure to listen to the postscript at the end. I've never read a postscript that completed a work of art so satisfyingly.
