Overview

A riveting story of secret sin and the healing power of forgiveness

Airline pilot Connor Evans and his wife, Michele, seem to be the perfect couple living what looks like a perfect life. Then a plane goes down in the Pacific Ocean. One of the casualties is Kiahna Siefert, a flight attendant Connor knew well. Too well. Kiahna's will is very clear: before her seven-year-old son, Max, can be turned over to the state, he must spend the summer with the father he's never met, the father who doesn't know he exists: Connor Evans.

Now will the presence of one lonely child and the truth he represents destroy Connor's family ? Or is it possible that healing and hope might come in the shape of a seven-year-old boy?

A wonderfully told story as usual by Karen Kingsbury. It deals so well with heartbreak from broken trust, much prayer and soul-searching and final acceptance and love for a small boy who needs it so much.

This was my first book by Karen Kingsbury. I didn't realize it was Christian based when I rented it, but I loved how the characters in the book dealt with difficult human issues by relying on their faith in God to help them through it. A little too sappy and unbelievable at the end, but still a very good read.

This book was excellant from the very beginning. You just fell in love with the characters and their personalities. It is a great book about forgiveness and seeing how it changes people's lives and attitudes. At first I did not like Michele at all, as we all have that type of attitude in our lives at times, but then when she "changed" and came to a real belief, she became a beautiful, loving and kind person.

This has been a pleasure to listen too. I have added this to my list of all time best books. The narrator gives every character feeling and emotions, it brings you on a roller coaster ride up and down and back up again. I laughed, I cried, and most of all I did not want it to end. If you are lacking faith in God, in love, or in relationships, this book brings it back too you thru a belief that forgiveness leads to love. I absolutely loved this one. I think I am going to buy the paper version just as a keep sake.
