Overview

The Bhagavad Gita is one of the world's classic religious texts. Revered by Hindus and an inspiration for thinkers from Gandhi to Thoreau, it is a meditation on how we should live our lives; how and when to act; for what purpose, and how to let go. At its heart, the Gita guides us to embrace our worldly responsibilities as one of many paths to the Divine. In this documentary, Piali Roy traces the unfolding of the Gita in Hindu culture and beyond.

I wanted to hear the Gita as well as read it but there isn't a rental available that is just a narration of the Gita. This is a two part show or lecture that has a little narration followed by commentary. While this would have been wonderful as it is, it is extremely short. I would have enjoyed a more in depth, unabridged version. I suppose I will have to break down and buy it. However, this is a good start especially if you are not familiar with the Gita.
